Latte Macchiato

I figure it is necessary to, at some point, post a picture of a coffee from an Italian cafe. I just have to.

Safety tip for Americans who don't know anything about coffee (like me): Do not ever order an "iced" latte macchiato.

Yes, this is a menu item at Starbucks. No, it does not exist in real life.

Apparently, as one barrista explained to me, it is not possible to ice an authentic macchiato. She went in to some of the coffee physics at the time, but the bottom line is, you can't do it.

  1. I swear I can taste that coffee from here. There's a certain way Italians make their coffee so that it just tastes like heaven. Your posts are making me crave Italy.

  2. Where was this photo taken? I love macchiatos but I have never seen one that beautiful!

And nope--I was in Rome on New Years. My parents came in on Christmas day and we spent that evening in since nowhere around was open.

  4. I love when coffee is served in glasses, it make it look so much prettier. Although...I am actually not a coffee fan at all, haha.

  5. I wish the caffeine didn't make me anxious because I LOVE the smell of coffee and this one looks especially yummy.

And I agree about the classes-they always look that much more classier.

  7. A.-- I don't remember the name of the place, but it is in the Maniago centro! If you are at that fountain in the post a few days ago, and turn to your left, it's right there :)

  8. Ohhh yummy!

I never drink coffee at home, but while in Italy I had a cappucino every day! It was fun! I liked when they would make fancy designs on the top.
